printing error

I have Small Business Office 2003. I can print okay in
Excel, Word, jpegs etc. When I try to print a
publisher "sign" I get the following error message (on a
balloon on the lower right task bar) "This document
failed to print. Click here to open the print queue and
then for assistance click troubleshooter on the help
menu". No help from troubelshooter.

The page will start to print and then quit 1/2 way thru,
push out the page and then start printing the page again
and do it over until I cancel the print job. When it
reprints the page it does not always stop printing at the
same point; sometimes it wil print 1/2 page, sometimes
1/3 page, sometimes almost the entire page.

I have worked with hp regarding the printer (officejet
d145) and with hp regarding the pc (Media Center m470n).
They tell me it is a Microsoft problem.

I am up to date on all Windows XP updates and office
updates.

What can I do next? Thanks.

How big is the print job? Do you have enough resources? Printing an Excel file or
even an image is not the same as printing a Publisher project.

I wnt to the HP web site. The diagnostics check said I
have the most recent driver.

Are you current on your printer drivers? Publisher can be picky about them.

I'm only prining one page "signs" -- a border with text
in the middle. I have a Pentium 4 with 1 gb of ram. I
have printed many of these in the past. It is only
recently that I noticed this problem.

When I worked with the folks at HP they finally ended up
having me perform a "destructive recovery". Still no
luck.
