Printing error

When I insert Page X of Y into a header on screen it displays correctly, but when I print it the page numbers are wrong. For example if I have five pages instead of printing 1 of 5, 2 of 5, 3 of 5, etc. it prints 1 of 1, 2 of 2, 3 of 3. Does anyone know how to fix this?
