First...you'll need a printer that can print full
bleed...(to the edge)...if you have that...read on....

Publisher shows that an A5 is...5.827 x 8.268
inches....or...14.8 x 21cm

You cannot fill the page with an image without
cropping unless it it the exact same aspect ratio.

So...you need an image that is cropped to
5.827 x 8.268 inches or 8.268 x 5.827...
depending on the orientation.

The following freeware can do that for you.

FastStone Image Viewer
http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm

FastStone's crop tool will allow you to enter a
new size for cropping and you can 'Crop To
Clipboard' which means you can open Publisher
and paste the cropped image in your project.

In my limited experience...most InkJet printers
do not print Full Bleed (to the edge).

Maybe the following article will help:

"How to find the maximum print area of your printer"
http://ed.mvps.org/Static.aspx?=Publisher/horidiag

And...your printer's manual may offer some useful info.

Thank you. I have changed the paper size to A5 and the image size to A5
dimensions also, but when I do print preview it shows the page with the image
cut off. Is this the same issue with the printer?

The article from Ed should have helped you
determine the print area of your printer but it
sounds like your printer does not print to the
edge.
