Printing on an existing postcard??

P

Patrick

Hi, I'm trying to design a postcard using Publisher 2000, using an existing postcard with information already on it. I want to add information and use the mail merge to print off over 100 of these (it's for a wedding update). I tried to set something up but Publisher's postcards are much smaller than the ones I have and the design comes out too small. Any suggestions on how to set it up right so that I can create these "Save the Date" cards?

In Publisher 2000, have you tried going to File > Page Setup > Publication
Layout: Special Size > Enter the dimensions of YOUR postcard under the
width/heigh boxes listed under Choose a Publication Size?

Yes, I it's 4x6 and I changed it too that, but it didn't seem to help

So after you change your page size, and you print to your 4 x 6 postcard
(assuming you also set your printer settings to 4x6 under File > Print
Setup), what happens when you print?

it only prints the hash marks, or it will print so small that you can't read it, if I expand the font size, it doesn't print all of the text but it has room to

Make sure that the page size under File > Print Setup is set to the
appropriate page size.

Patrick,

What you need to do is setup your printer to print one 4 x 6 postcard at a time. You
have to use the "custom size" in your printer setup before you setup the custom page
size. Printing one card at a time will allow your merge to happen.
Keep in mind your margin limitations.
