printing tent cards

I have been sent tent cards that are printing out different names on each
side rather than same name on both sides. Is there a setting that I am
missing?
Publisher 2003 printing to Xerox 6100 ( PSlevel3)
Settings in Page Setup: Folded Card; Tent Card; W=11" H=4.25" Orientation
Landscape
Printer Setup: Letter sized Landscape
It prints- just 2 pages per sheet. It also pdfs that way, so I am assuming
it is a Publsiher setting.

I fought with this previously and only came up with making 2 consecutive
pages identical. This file is 45 pages long. There has to be a better way!

Are you saying there are 45 different names in the file or is there 45 names in
a database you are using to merge on the tent cards?

When you setup your card, put a text box on pages one and two with the merge
data information. It should print the same name on both sides. At least it does
for me.

What happens if you create a new publication in step 5 of the wizard?

Mary,
It did not come from a database. The user added pages and typed in the names
& titles in a text box on each page. I doubt that there was originally a
database- most likely a list ( that gets added to 3 times before it is final.)
Does one have to have a database?

You can always type each card manually. Create 90 pages, type the same name
twice. Publisher will automatically rotate the even pages text. And yes you need
a database of some sort to merge.

If you could get those names on one page and paste them into a Word document,
you could use Word as a database.

You could also change the page setup on each file to a tent card, copy and paste
the text boxes in the proper place.
