Privacy concerns when installing Groove as part of Office Enterpri

I purchased Office Enterprise 2007 as part of a Home Use Program that was
made available to employees of the company I work for. I was just about to
perform the install on my PC at home when I read the MS Software License
Terms which stated:
" Groove Software and Services. Groove will allow you to communicate
directly with others over the Internet. If you are not on the Internet, your
communications will be encrypted and sent through Microsoft servers for later
delivery. You can not disable this service.
Groove makes some information about your Groove account and computer known
to your contacts. For example, if you:
â— add a contact to your contact list,
â— import your user account onto a new device,
â— update the information in your “identity contactâ€, or
â— send a Groove workspace invitation using an URL to reference the
invitation file,

information about you and your devices may be sent to your contacts. If you
configure Groove to use Microsoft servers, those servers will collect
information about your computer and user accounts.

Will the install allow for me to choose to NOT configure Groove to use
Microsoft servers?

I am not familiar with what privacy issues, if any, I might be compromising
if I install this product, and while I do not even need to make use of Groove
2007, will others have access to any areas of my PC somehow?
I purchased the Home Use Program specifically so that I would be able to
install Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Access, however it apparently
means that by installing the Office Enterprise 2007 suite, that OneNote,
InfoPath & Groove will presumably get installed as well, unless it prompts me
to choose which Office products I don't want to install. I don't know if it
will allow for me to choose that at this point.
Once installed, if I update my contacts list, will that mean that this info
will be supplied to others somehow?

Do I need to be concerned about installing the Office Enterprise suite &
subsequently Groove 2007 allowing others to have access to my PC without my
knowlege or authorization, and without my ability to stop them from doing so?

If you select a custom installation, you can deselect any component you don't want, such as Groove.

I proceeded to agree with the Software License Terms and the installation
subsequently automatically started without prompting me to choose between
custom install or standard install. I would have expected what you said to
occur and I then would have chosen custom.
Although the install had proceeded & completed, I have not yet restarted my
PC, however now when I look at the Add/Remove Programs, MS Enterprise is
shown but the individual Office suite applications are not. Maybe each one
will be shown there after I restart my PC, maybe not, I don't know.
Is this typical?
Now that Enterprise is installed, how do I proceed to try to ensure not
utilizing/running the Groove application once I reboot my PC?

After restarting the PC, choose Microsoft Office 2007 and change the applications or features you do not want to 'Not Available'
state so they're not going to run.
