Problem about file with link

My colleague has sent me a powerpoint file. Whenever I open it prompts for
link update. However there's in fact no link in the file. How can I remove
the message "asking link update" when I open the file? Any ideas what caused
the problem?

I'm using PowerPoint 2003. I guess the author has used the function "link
to content".
