Problem aligning graphics in Word 2000 on a document created in W.

I have documents created in Office 97 Word which when I try to align or
distribute new additional shapes in Word 2000 I get 'greyed-out' toolbars on
all the options. I have searched Microsoft and have selected more than two
items ... still does not work! Anyone else seen this one and know the
solution?
Thanks

Hi Mickeee3,

If you use View=>Toolbars and open the Picture toolbar
and check the text wrapping icon are the graphics set
to a layout style other than 'inline with text'?

Are the graphics outside of a table?

Inline or table bound graphics (including having the
picture 'anchor' alone in the table) won't work from the
Drawing toolbar's Draw=>Align or Distribute choices.
