Problem configuring sample database for Project Server 2003 (WSS)

I am trying to configure PS 2003 to use the sample db as described in the
file on the cd. All goes well, until I try to add the restored content
database to the extended virtual server for the sample web site. I get
Database 'MPSWSSSampleDatabase' already exists. (Error code: 1801).

I thought that the database was *supposed* to exist already and that
selecting "Specify database server settings" as opposed to "Use Default
Content DB" just added that content db to the virtiual server? Did I miss
something?

I've even rebuilt from the ground up, and still the same. Any suggestions
appreciated.
