Problem inserting html fragement

I have a problem inserting html fragment into my page.
The html fragment included a link that takes small image
from another site and also links this site to this image.
Publisher had a button called insert html fragment. I
opened this button and then I typed the piece of html code
inside this window. Then it appeared on my page like a
text box. When I preview this webpage in Explorer it looks
like broken image with text in a box. What am I doing
wrong here?
