Problem reinstallling Office 2000

I recently had to replace my C drive and have XP
reinstalled on the new drive. I want to reinstall Office
2000 from my disks, but I get the following error:

Installer Information: Error 1608. Could not find any
previously installed compliant products on the machine for
installing the product.

Does anyone know what is happening and how I can remedy the
situation?

Since you had to replace your C: Drive and now you are
trying to reinstall Office 2000 right? Well the problem
is, you must have an upgrade version of Microsoft Office
2000 and not the full blown version. The only way to
correct this problem is to first install your old version
of Microsoft Office, once it's installed, then the new
version will install without any problems.

Remember, when you purchase upgrades, you are not getting
the full set of the program, you are only getting the
components which will bring your current version of MS
Office to the New version.
