Problem Running Outlook

I have Microsoft Office XP. Whenever I try to start any
of the programs (Outlook, word, etc..) by double clicking
on the shortcut on the desktop, it starts trying to
install the software. It asks me for the Windows
Microsoft Office XP disks, I click cancel then it gets in
and runs the programs fine. How do I fix this problem?

It doesn't try to install the program if I start it by
clicking Start-All Programs-Outlook. Only when I double
lick the shortcut icons.

If my only option is to reinstall everything that is fine,
but how do I save all my contacts, e-mails, etc.?

Thank you,

Jared
