Problem selecting fields in customize current view

When I try to add or remove fields when cjustomizing the current view in
Contacts, no matter which field I select, the top field is always added or
removed. Is there a way to reset the views to deal with any corruption that
may have occurred? Can I remove Outlook and then reinstall it without
removing Office?
