Problem using hotmail with outlook 2003

I am using Outlook 2003 to access my hotmail account, and here is the problem.

If I reply or forward a message, once the message is sent, the indicator
next to the message will not change. ie

New message: yellow envelop
Read message: white envelop
replied message: white envelop *no arrow*
forwarded message: white envelop *no arrow*

How can I fix that?

I frequently reply multiple times to the same email ... which is embarassing.

I have contacted Hotmail support but they directed me to you for help.

The Hotmail account doesn't use icon indications in Outlook by using a HTTP
connection. If you subscription allows it use the MSN Connector for Outlook.
