Problem Using Hyperlinks When Word 2003 Document Protected

I am creating a Word 2003 document template with forms included. I also have
hyperlinks linking the pages of the document together with bookmarks. Whilst
unprotected the hyperlinks work fine. When I protect the document the
hyperlinks no longer work. How can I make sure the hyperlinks continue to
work after document is protected?
