Problem with auto-archive

I am trying to archive some messages forever. I right click on the
folder's shortcut, then select properties, auto-archive and have the
box "Clean out items older than..." unchecked. This seems to work for
most folders, but not for my "Sent Items" folder. Any thoughts?
