Problem with sections inside sections

Hello, I am a police officer with the city of Winter Haven, Fl.

I am changing our report forms into Infopath. The problem I am having is
that I have an Optional Section which has a Repeating section in it and then
two more optional sections inside that repeating section. Now having set the
stage the form works great except there is a huge space taken up even if I
don't use any of the optional sections.

It appears that the space I allowed for the Initial Optional section is
always taken if I open the section regardless of what is actually in it. As a
result, there is a large space between that section and the rest of the form.
This is not a problem if both of the internal optional sections are
completed.

What I need is this: An officer has a case with a victim an a suspect. He
selects the optional person section and fills our the data for the victim. He
does the same for the suspect except on the suspect's entry he selects the
optional section for suspect (which is inside the persons repeating section)
which contains the additional information needed for a suspect.

I hope someone can help me fix the print issue or suggest a different way of
doing the task.

Thanks
Rich

outer one.

* All my O.S.s are in a layout table (two cols, label in first, value
control/O.S. in second). I mostly find O.S.s only then take up desired
height (including nearly nothing when not expanded); as I expand/collapse,
the table resizes to fit with no blank space. But, for some reason, if its
