Problem with Tasks

A

ATC

We have some users that like to use the Tasks in Outlook. The person that
creates a task is the owner. If they owner closes a task then that task will
be closed for everyone else. Somehow this group of
users managed to create a task that says it has different owners.

Example: On user A's workstation Outlook says the task owner is user B. On
user B's workstation outlook says the own is user A.

So, it says it has two different owners, but it actually behaves as if it
has no owners. If either of the listed owners closes the task then it does
not automatically close for anyone else. This is not a huge problem since
each user that is part of the task can close it on their end, but it does
partially defeat the purpose of tasks since even if the owner closes the ask
the other users don't know that it has been closed/completed.

Any ideas on how this might have happened? We have a mix of Office 97 and
2003, but I believe that theusers involved with this all have 97. We are
running on Exchnage 2003/WinServer 2003.
