Problems opening MSWord & Excel after installing Acrobat Pro 6.0

After installing Adobe Acrobat Pro 6.0, I am unable to open MSWord or Excel.
The error message says that "Word for Windows has encountered a problem and
needs to close."
Before installing Acrobat, Word and Excel were working fine. The machine is
running Windows XP with service pack 2 installed. MSOffice 2000 has been
updated with service pack 3. Power point opens with no problem. Any
suggestions???

I should reword that as to All office XP products, Front Page IE (6.00) and
MS Publisher 2003. The all crash constantly it's almost immpossible to work.
I also have windows XP and have done the updates on windows and office.

For PPT, do a search for all *.PPA files. Rename the PDFMaker.PPA and
PDFMakerA.PPA files (can't remember the exact file names here, but it's
something similar to these two file names) to something like PDFMaker.OLD
and PDFMakerA.OLD

Make sure PPT and Acrobat are closed when you do this.

So that leaves Outlook, I guess.

What do the Adobe people say? Did you check their forums?

Detect & Repair should solve the problem. Open any document and from
HELP menu look for an entry that says Detect and Repair. Then sit back
and wait until all the files are copied from MSOCache folder.
