Problems printing booklet

I am trying to create an 8-page booklet (1/2 A4), but I can't get it to print
correctly.

All appears fine in the preview pane, but when I print the document out, the
reverse side of each page is upside down. So the first sheet has page 8 on
the left hand side and page 1 on the right. Page 2 is then upside down on the
rear of page 8 and page 7 is upside down on the rear of page 1.

I use a Canon iP6700D which supports duplex printing and have run the setup
wizard in Publisher. In fact, I've run it several times as I thought I must
have been doing it wrong! I'm quite certain that I have run the wizard
correctly. However, I get exactly the same result, even if I deliberately
select the wrong output image from the wizard (i.e. whereas the circle
appears on the rear of the sheet over the 4, I have also tried telling the
computer that the circle is on the rear over the 2). I'm a bit baffled by
this and wondering whether the settings imposed by Publisher are being
overridden somehow by the printer?

Any ideas please?

If you've set up duplexing in your printer driver, then THAT will do the
duplexing, and so you'll need to set things up there, rather than in
Publisher. If you're auto-duplexing, then you definitely have to set it
up in your driver. Publisher has no control over that.
