Problems Selecting Text

Hi folks, When I try to select multiple lines in a
paragraph, I hold down Shift + Down Arrow. If I stop and
try to continue, it starts deselecting from where I
started selecting initially. Can anyone help?

Hi Paul,

I have a bit of trouble to visualize what exactly is happening.

Say you selected three lines, and then use Shift+Down.
Does it select a line down, but deselect the first line?

If you then copy/paste the text, does it include the first paragraph?

It might be a problem with the graphics driver. At least I'd try to find
the best/newest driver available, and see if it fixes the problem.

Greetings,
Klaus

Thank you for responding Klaus, selecting with the mouse
is fine. I can copy and paste fine as well. (provided I
can select the text in the first place) It's only when I
use the keyboard. Let's say I wanted to select a 6 line
paragraph.. If I place the cursor at the begining and use
Shift + Down arrow, that'll select down to the beginning
of the last line. (Provided I don't stop at any time.)

If I wanted to continue to select to the end of the
paragraph, I'd then have to use my Right Arrow. By
stopping long enough to switch keys, (even without
letting go of the Shift key), it now starts to deselect
text from the initial starting point of the paragraph. It
makes it almost impossible to use the keyboard for
selecting. I have to use the mouse which is fine unless I
hit the bottom of the viewable area. Then it scrolls
through two or three pages before I can stop it.

Any thoughts?
