Problems with hit counters

I have an NT 4.0 SP6 web server running IIS 4.0 and the
latest version of FrontPage 2000 server extensions.

I can publish to my FrontPage 2000 web site on this server
with no problem, however, I can not get a Front Page hit
couter to display. Clients browing this web see nothing
but a red "x".

Any ideas?

I wish I could, but this is an Intranet server.
