Problems with Install and Win XP

Hello there - I've been working this issue for days and
having no luck - alas - I ask for help.

I'm running windows xp on an HP XH555 laptop. I had
Office 2000 installed before fine. I uninstalled Office
2000 and am trying to reinstall it now.

About 3/4 of the way through the install - I receive the
following error message: "Windows files must be installed
for your installation to proceed. Please insert
your Windows XP Service Pack 1 CD now"

I have downloaded and installed the Windows XP Serivce
Pack 1 and don't have the CD for it.

Any help would be appreciated!
