Problems with Office Assistant

I have a client that is having a problem with office
assistant. I know, who uses this any more. Her complaint
is that when she opens microsoft project she can use the
office assistant, but when she exits the Project and
reopens it she gets the following error message

The Office Assistant could not be started. Please repair
the Assistant by running Office 2000 setup and
selecting "Repair Office 2000"

When she tries to open another office product like
Outlook 2003 she gets the following error message

There are no Office Assistant character files present on
the system. Please run Setup in maintenance mode and
install at least one character. She also says that if she
tries to open another Office 2003 Package the Office
Assistant is unavailable in the drop down list.

Please help.

Have you run the repair like the error suggested? You can do this by going
into Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs. Select Office 2003, click
add/remove, and select the repair option. This should reinstall the office
assistant files which appear to have become corrupted.

Yes I have, but when I restart project2000 and close it
and restart again I run into the same problem with the
office assistant, it disappears.
