Problems with printing 14-point font

I am having a difficult time printing a 26-page paper with 14 point
Microsoft Word font. Occasionally these tiny black lines will print, instead
of the words. Or there will be blank spaces between my text. It seems that
Microsoft does not "like" this font, or is choosing to print when it wants
to. What's the problem?

Microsoft Word is not a font. What font are you actually using? (Look in the
font box on the Formatting toolbar.)
