Product activation prompt for no reason

Hi all
I have been running Office XP Pro (2002) on a Windows XP (2002) machine for
a year or so, without much problem, but today when I fire up Office it says
that I have not "activated" it and am prompted to do so (about 46 or so
remaining attempts allowed).

Is this a common problem? Do I have to reactivated it annually? I am
conscious that you only get so many activations per purchase.

There were some well documented problems with Office XP and the activation
wizard. So yes, it is (was) a common problem, and no you should not have to
activate annually, only if you re-install or make significant hardware
changes to your computer.

Try searching the MS Knowledge Base once if you cannot actually activate

Search on Office XP Activation and theres lots of info.

good luck,
