Product Activation Woes

Steve

I'm finding having reinstalled my Office 2003 several times now that I'm
being forced to use telephone Activation. The telephone number listed for my
area isnt' free! Is it not possible to get a license that won't keep taking
me down this route ?

According to your headers you're in Japan. According to my Office 2003
(which hasn't been activated again yet) the number for Japan is as free as
the number for anywhere else. What makes you think otherwise? Many mobile
phone companies will charge you for calling toll free numbers on their
network, though.

Yes , there is a list of telephone numbers given by area in which you live.
The first one in the list, for Tokyo isn't free. The freephone number is
listed against Osaka. On occassions, Freephone numbers have been tied to
users calling from certain areas, as they're not setup as National freephone
numbers.

Never-the-less, I still find myself having to enter the Product Activation
key via the telephone everytime I need to do a reinstall... this is a real
pain in the buttt... how can I get the Count reset such that I can do it
over the internet ?
