Version for XP home ed. When I try to enter it it says
that it's the wrong one. I received this key from the
office website. Why is this not working?

There is no such thing as Office for Home Edition. Home Edition is an
*OPERATING SYSTEM* and there are no trial keys on the Office website.
Besides, all trial licences for Office XP expired two years ago.
