Product key needed for Microsoft Office v.X

Version: v.X
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I just purchased a new 2.66 GHz 24' iMac and am not able to open Microsoft Office v.X. First, I copied this version onto my new mac via firewire connection to my old mac. The application started to open but stopped. I then copied it from my external hard drive to my new mac. Same problem. Finally, I tried to install it from the copied version I have. Being that it is not the original version I do not have the product key and still cannot open it. Does anyone have a product key for this or suggestions other than upgrading to a newer version? I have the product ID if that is of use to anyone.

Do you not have the v.X CD or the product key?

Copying Office installs from one machine to another very frequently
leads to problems - there are lots of support files which may or may not
be copied with the apps, depending on the method.

The product ID is not very useful - it's a one-way hash based on the
Product/CD key.

You might find a cheap version of v.X on eBay or from a Mac shop.

I do not have the product key and the v.X CD I have is a copied version not the original. As far as I can tell by checking all the files, everything was copied over to my new mac. If no one can supply me with a product key I will have to purchase another version.

If you don't need Exchange you can get Office 2008 very reasonably. $89.99
(this is the lowest price I've seen for this version)
