Product key not recognized - installed won't activate.

I bought a new GATEWAY computer (which had a bad RAM install and loose DVD
cables but it's ok now). Took my old copy of Microsoft Office Standard
Edition 2003 and installed it fine using the product key on my package.
Tried to run WORD and up popped a screen asking for the 25-character product
key. Entered same key several times and got rejected each time. What's
going on???? If the key won't work where do I get one that does given I paid
enough for this software package already?
