product key number

I have purchased office 2000 for my windows 98 computer.
with the installation of office 2000 the (25) product key
number worked perfectly.
I have just purchased a new computer with windows XP.
When I try to install the same office 2000 to the new
computer it will not recognize the product key number
and the ball game stops there....

HELP PLEASE!
