Programatically alter width of field in datasheet view

Is it possible to alter the width of a field in a form when in datasheet
view using vba (without resorting to api calls)?

Method (if one exists) needs to be compatible as far back as Acc 2k.

Forms("Products").Controls("ProductName").ColumnWidth=1440

Replace "Products" with the name of your form, and "ProductName" with the
name of the control you want to resize. The size is in twips, 1440 twips = 1
inch.
