Programming progress bars

Is it possible to create a custom field that is based on a percentage of work
completed (another custom field) and display the percentage as progress in
the progress bar?

Hello,

Since you're in the formula world, you can compute the DATE through which
you want to show progress.
Once that is known (say in the Date7 field) you go Format, Bar Styles, look
for the prograss bar and in To.. replace "Complete Through" by "Date7"

The problem is that the % complete field is calculated partially on the
duration field. We would like to calculate it based on work and actual work
(ie actual work/work * 100 - This would give "actual" % complete). We would
like the progress bar to reflect this calculation.

We have created the schedule based on a fixed work schedule. No matter how
long the task is, the BCWP is based on the actual work that is performed and
the alloted hours (work field) for the task.
