Progress Line

I can't seem to get the progress line in a Gantt chart to show when an
activity is ahead of schedule. It shows those behind, but not those ahead.
How do I do this?

Hello,
Before entering the tracking data :
Tools / Options / Calculation / Edits to total task % complete will be
spread to the status date
