Proj Prof 2002 connected to server will not open

HELP! For some reason Project Professional 2002 pointed
to my server will not open. As on Thursday last week it
only will not open when attached to the server. If I
open a project directly the project will open - but my
connection to the server causes an error. I get the
message that an error report is being sent to Microsoft.
I am assuming that as I had just updated my Enterprise
global template that it has something to with that - but
as I can not open the template I can not trouble shoot
it. Any ideas - help.

This sounds very familiar to an issue we ran into. We
contacted M$ and even sent them our database, but they
were not able to resolve the issue.

We ended up restoring from a clean point and time and have
not had the problem since. I wish I could be of more
help, but I would hate to see you spend too much time
trying to fix this rather than simply biting the bullet
and restoring.
