Project 2003 vs. 2007 schedule dates

Hi,

Myself and another Project Manager are working on a plan. She has Project
2007, I have 2003. She saves the plan as 2003. But when I open a plan that
she has updated the dates have moved (Imp date has moved almost a month).

Any ideas on what would cause this? It may not be a 2007 vs 2003 issue, but
that was my first thought (we made sure our leveling parameters were the
same).

Moving a whole month woud be enough to scare anyone. Check the default
(standard) calendars. Even though you may both be using "standard", if one
of you has modified your calendar that could account for it. For example, we
always take the week between Christmas & New Years off. That would account
for one week slip if it was in one calendar and not the other.

Try elminiating one variable at a time. Turn off the resource leveling and
see if you can match there.

Also, make sure you are both on the correct service packs. 2003 should be
operating on Office SP3 (or at least SP2). P2007 should be on SP1. Of
course go through all the other patches after that time too.

The only things I can think of are calendar mismatches and conversion issues
(which were dealt with on the sevice packs).

You may also want to check some of the more obvious things like resources
assigned to summaries and the like. Of course, that would impact both files
equally.

Thanks. I might check the service packs. I did already check the calendars
(she doesn't touch them). I narrowed it down to 3 or 4 tasks that the
duration was extended for some reason. I changed the durations back to the
original days and that brought almost all of it back. So I'll keep an eye on
those tasks and check the service packs.

Thanks.
