Project 2007 & 2003

I have MS Project 2007 on my pc. Other staff have 2003. I can open their 2003
project files in our shared file only as "Read Only." Any hints as to why?
What is the fix?

Hello northstar,

To the best of my knowledge, you should be able to open Project 2003
mpp files using Project 2007 without issue.

I assume you have sufficient access rights on the network to open the
files from the network share read/write?

There is a setting on the Security tab in Tools > Options in Project
2007 which controls how "legacy" file formats are treated in Project
2007. Try changing your setting to "Allow loading...." and see if
that changes things.
