Project 2007 Usage?

Is this the best program to use if I need to track multiple projects for one
client at once? Tracking time lines and deadlines only.

I was advised to create one folder per Client, and input every separate
project (PO) they open in that same folder.

Any suggestions?

Nincieda,

Sounds eminently snesible to me.

First certainly keep each client in a separate folder. Then unless there is
a relatinship between two or more project files, then keep them as separate
files in that one project.

Project is certainly capable of tracking progress against both the planned
work and any deadlines and milestones associated with the project.

Hope this helps

I suggest you do some more research. Project will certainly do what you
ask. But it is not simple software and competant use requires a fair amount
of knowledge both of scheduling and Project Management. To paraphrase Lewis
(Project Planning, Scheduling and Control), "Giving someone who has no
knowledge of Project Managtement a sophisticated scheduling tool merely
enables them to document their failures accurately". This is not a tool
which you can successfully implement in a few weeks, or even a few months.
It involves a new way, for most, to view and manage their projects. If you
aren't ready for such an undertaking, you're probably better off using
Excel. Of course, the payout for doing all this is much better control of
your projects and the opportunity to begin bringing them in on time and
within budget.

Hope this helps in your world.
