This has been a recurring issue with clients at our company. When clients
have their laptops in a conference room and connect to a projector, they will
get an error: Project has encountered an error and must shut down. They try
reopening Project and it continually gives them this error. So now they are
unable to present their Project plan to their audience - which has been very
frustrating and often times embarrassing to our clients. Once they get back
to their own desks, Project opens just fine. This happens with Project 2002
and Project 2003 as well as Windows 2K and XP. Many of the clients have IBM
T40 or T41 laptops. They have this crashing problem with several different
projectors in different conference rooms. One user with a T41 may have
problems with one projector and another user with a T41 will not have any
problem.
I have searched the Internet various times in the last 1 1/2 years and see
that we are not the only ones experiencing this problem but no one has yet to
come up with a resolution. Just hoping that maybe someone has been able to
come up with something.
