Project File Size Grows w/o Adding New Task

Last week the project was 13MB this week it's 17.8MB. Why is it growing so
quickly? I have not added any new task.
Is there a size limit on projetcs?

Hi Catfish,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

If you suspect a corrupt file, you could try the suggestions in FAQ Item:
43. File Bloat? - Might be Corruption.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address:http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Mike, is there a size limit for a project? We're starting to notice some
strange things happen. Work (man-hours) are changing from the baseline work.
Task durations are changing. We're in the 7th week of our 10 week outage and
can not afford any delays on reporting progress or milestone dates. Any
advice is welcomed.

Yes, but you talking about up to a million tasks. The prime limit is
governed by the capacity of your machine rather than Project. It sounds to
me that you have corruption. If the procedures in the FAQ haven't worked,
then get out your backup quickly - you do have one don't you?

I followed your directions and the project went for 18MG to 10MG.
Our network backs up every night so I do have a back up.
Is there anything else I can do to kill the corruption??

I don't know of a way to prevent corruption other that what's in the FAQ. I
would immediately take another backup copy as your nightly backups are
backing up the corruption.

Maybe someone else has something to offer?
