Maanu

Hi,

I have a set of recurring tasks. For Eg: weekly meeting. Its duration is
only 1 hr

Is there any provision for automatically generating such tasks in ms project
after adding one isnatnce of the task?

How can I link these tasks?

Thanks!

Hi Maanu

Insert, Recurring Task
Each meetig tasks is generated with a Start No Earlier Than Constraint, no
need to link them between each other.
If you want to link them to other tasks, no problem, they behave just like
any other task.

Hi,
If my recurring task is not recurring with a specific frequency (say every
week on monday) but rather is scheduled every month but not with a pattern.
Is there a way to do that ,or do I have to add them all as separate tasks
with duration of 1 day and marked as milestones? That is the way I've done it
right now, but it feels too complicated.

Hello Hertsh,

No sorry. A recurring task must recur on a set pattern -- for
example 3rd Tuesday, 15th of every month, etc.

I'm not sure why you are setting as one day and then marking as
milestone however. Is the the task truly a milestone with zero
duration or is there work expected to be done?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Hertch,

I'd just set it up as one per month choosing the most common day. Then you can expand the summary to show all of the recurring tasks. Then move the individual ones you want.
