"Project Manager" Field in Project Server

J

Justin Fults

I have some tasks that were assigned inadvertently by the
wrong Project Manager. In MS Project Pro, the "Project
Manager" field does not exist (i.e. at least under this
name). However, if I look at the assignment in Project
Web Access the "Project Manager" field exists and is
viewable.

I have two questions:

1. How can I change the "Project Manager" on a specific
Task?

2. Also, how can I identify this field in Project Pro?

Thanks,
Justin

1) The Project Manager fields is actually gotten from the
author field under File -> Properties and is published in
server as the Project Manager.

If you need more than one project manager in a project
then you will have to set up a customized field called
Project Manager and have your PM's fill it in on each
task in the plan. I would recommend giving them a pull-
down with pre-filled in chioces so you don't end up with
multiple spellings of a name.

Kevin:

Would you explain the reason for your custom field recommendation for
multiple PMs. Why would this be required rather than simply informational?
