Project Manager Group

Hi,
I am facing a problem I have a Project Manager group for
the different project managers. I would like the Project
Managers to view only their own projects & resources of
the team in their own project. This option has been set
with the My Projects category.
NEW PROJECTS -When the Project Manager logs in to
Project Professional & uses the Build Team from Enterprise
he views only the resources in his project. The Project
Manager should be able to view all resources in the
Enterprise to build his team. The option for See
Enterprise Resource Data,Edit Enterprise Resource Data &
Read Enterprise Global have been set in the Project
Manager template.
Any solution for this problem?

David

David,

What you have noticed is the way the system is designed.
The permissions and category rights you set for resources
apply to both PWA and projects as well. If you want PMs
to see the whole organization to build a team, then you
have to give them those category rights which will also
apply to PWA.

Usually having access to the whole organization to build
teams takes precedence, so you have to figure out how to
deal with the PWA views. Filters do not get saved in PWA,
but grouping does. About the best you can do is setup a
custom field which identifies your different PMs and then
group by that field. PWA will retain the grouping and
each PM can expand only their own group in the list.

I don't like it either, but I have not seen anyone else
come up with a better solution.

Jim,

Thanks for your suggestion.
Does anyone know any other solution: I would like the
Project Manager Group to view their own projects in Web
Access but, while building team from Enterprise in Project
Professional to view all the Enterprise Resources.

Regards,
David.
