Project & Outlook integration

Hi,
Have alook at "MS Knowledge based article 329827 How to
set up E-Mail Workgroup Messaging as a Team Collaboration
Solution".
You need to run wgsetup.exe from your installation disk
CDRom on a network drive and have a MAPI compliant email
system, such as Outlook. Don't need Project Server-
Project 2002 or later is OK.
Then go ino Colaborate Options and set to email.
But just try the following, even before running WGESETUP.
In View Resource Sheet in Resource Info tab in the General
tab type email address for the resource - your own..
The resource should be alocated to a task.
Then go to Collaborate and Publish. You will get an email.
But it won't make sense until the WGESETUP is run (I
believe).I would like someone on the newsgroup to help out
here if possible!!
In a corporate environment Wgesetup may not be available -
as in my case.
Would be interested to hear how you got on.

Regards..........Geoff

FYI If you don't have access to the CD you can download wgsetup.exe from
Microsoft so unless there's an absolute prohibition against users
downloading and installing software add-ins, it would be rare for it to be
unavailable. In fact, part of setting up a project team might include
sending the wgsetup file as an attachment to your "Welcome to the XYZ
Project Team!" email sent to all the team members along with instructions to
run the attachment to install the Outlook add-in. The MS Project license
allows for unlimited redistribution of that particular file so there are no
legal issues involved in doing so.

On my office computer (Imac) I have Entourage, the Mac version of Outlook.
It has built in project management. It may not be high powered, but I find it
to be an obvious "must" for PIM software and really helpful. My home computer
has Outlook 2003 and doesn't have this basic project management functions
built-in. Can anyone point me to some add-ins which might help with this
function? The Outlook page refers to a Microsoft Project Web Server, where
you can down'oad an add-in, but that seems to be a paid service. I'm looking
for something to help me personally manage my own work and projects. Thanks.
