Project Server 2003 security groups

HI, I have been trying to tweak the default security groups as follows:

I need a "project lead" group that can go to Project Server, see only their
own projects, and be able to edit them.

Out of the box, it looks like they can only see their own projects, but lack
the security to open them in Project from the Project Server. I've tried to
give the group additional rights but can't seem to get it to work.

The "project manager" group can open projects from the server, however they
can see all the projects, not just their own.

So I need to figure out how to allow "project leads" to open projects from
the server or how to tighten "project managers" so they can only see their
own projects.

Any ideas? Thanks in Advance
