Project Server for Status Reporting

Hello All -
I'm starting the research for implementing a central
Project database on our Intranet Portal. Our CIO is
looking for a place where all IT people can update their
project status and he can run
consolidated/filtered/sorted reports from this database.
If you have experience w/ this and have any ideas I would
love to hear them.

It's good idea to implement Project Server on Intranet Portal.
You can get customized views of project data with easy to use tool.
Consider to utilize Project Server Web Parts if You'll use SharePoint
technology
