Project/SharePoint integration

Hello All-

This is probably a stupid, question, and I apologize… (crossposted to the
SharePoint newsgroup in case someone knows over there :)

Is there a way to export from MS Project into SharePoint without installing
Project Server/Project Web Access? I don’t need to keep track of hundreds of
projects for an entire company, I would just like to be able to export task
lists, Gantt charts, and track progress on a SharePoint workspace. Both
programs support Gantt charts, calendars, lists, etc… but the “collaborateâ€
button in Project seems to require Project Server, and I don't see any option
for saving to SharePoint lists in the Project UI.

If you install the SharePoint Server Admin templates, one of the templates
is for a Project Tracking Workspace. This template (under the Deliverables
list:
http://demo.sharepointservers.com/projecttrackingworkspace/Lists/Deliverables/AllItems.aspx)
even says "Use the Deliverables list to communicate key deliverables and
dates. These can be linked with Project Professional to manage dependencies
across projects."

But... how?

Any tips/tricks/suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried exporting the project file into a csv, and then importing that
to sharepoint? You may have to go through Excel, but I think this will give
you the task information that you need. However this may just be a one time
import and would have to be repeated any time anything in Project changed

Hi Sean,

Sorry I didn't catch this post earlier. TeamDirection has an Add In for MS
Project that let's you publish tasks to SharePoint and merge the updates back
in to MS Project. This sounds like what you are looking for.

http://www.teamdirection.com/mspaddin

has more information and screencasts.
