David

I have a problem while viewing the Project Task View. The
PM after publishing the project is able to view the
project in the PROJECT CENTER VIEW & also view the
Resource Assignment view but, is unable to view the Task
Assignments it give the message that the "PM has not
published the project plan or no view are available".
Could someone guide me?

Regards,
David

I am having the same problem. We have imported all
projects from 2000 to 2002 and are having this problem for
only a few of the projects. We have found that there is a
difference in the data source value associated with the
bad projects, but don't know how this happened, how it
relates to the problem, or how to solve. Let me know if
you have had any success with this.

Hi Gary, I guess I've got you on a couple threads! I found
in the MSP_PROJECTS table under the PROJ_DATA_SOURCE field
that the projects not showing up have no entry, but those
that are showing up have a DSN value in that field. I've
been trying to figure out why and how this happened, but
with no luck. I knwo there must be something different
somewhere in the entire process, whether it's how the
project was opened originally, how it was imported, or I
don't know what else.

I suppose they could have. I only have read-access, how
could I determine if they were published as enterprise or
non-enterprise?

Sorry David, I have been away for a few weeks and haven't
checked here for awhile. It has been solved. I can tell
you what was done, but I'm not sure of the cause. A
manager (with some higher level of admin privileges) took
the following steps and gives the following advice:

1. I would suggest that we make sure no one is connecting
to the server via a DNS connection on their PC.

2. I opened up the projects in MS Project 2002, made sure
the options were correct and re-saved the projects.
Note: Project Server is not updated immediately - it
takes a few minutes.

The person importing the projects had both versions of MS
Project installed on his system and had DNS connections to
both versions of the database. The person who fixed the
problem was connecting via settings in "Start > Microsoft
Office Tools > Microsoft Project Server Accounts,"
connecting through the Project Server URL.

I only have read access since I'm just writing reports in
Access, so I wasn't able to really get involved with the
solution. I use a DNS connection from Access, but don't
think I am affecting anything by it. Hope this gives you
a starting point if you haven't already solved it.

Tim.
