Project verses Groove

What is the main differences between Office Project and Offive Groove. My
boss is looking for software for a product development project. His business
partner has used Groove in the past and felt it would be an alternative to
Project. I'm wondering if it has all the same capabilities.

Project is a project planning and scheduling tool.

Groove is an information sharing and collaboration tool.

Now what does your boss actually want to do?

More information on these products available on the Microsoft web site.

I think you mean SharePoint and Groove. Main difference to me would be if
all of your people are online all of the time. Groove supports asynchronous
and off-line collaboration. SharePoint doesn't really.

They're supposed to be complementary products though.

SharePoint and Project Server are often bundled, and many of my customers
don't necessarily differentiate between the two....
