Promote Data Source in currency format

I am using Infopath 2007 and publishing forms to our Moss server. Publishing
the form to the library works fine. However, any data source formatted as a
"currency" in Infopath does will not show up in the form library as a
"currency" field. In the form library the $ does not show up. It for some
reason promotes from Infopath as a "number" type instead of a "currency" type.

Any suggestions?

InfoPath formatting (i.e. to add the currency symbol) is specific to
InfoPath and does not affect the underlying data value. The value is still
just a number, but InfoPath performs the formatting when it displays that
number.

Thus, what you are experiencing is the expected behavior. If you want the
number formatted on SharePoint, you will need to add SharePoint formatting
to the number.

Thanks Greg. How do I go about adding SharePoint formatting to the number.
If I go into the form library to change the type from "number" to "currency",
the column is not editable.

Thanks again

Hi Greg,

There is probably a better way but I think I figured it out. I created a
caluculated column in the form library, set the formula to the column from
the Infopath form and set its data type to currency.

Thanks again for your help,

RN
